CrossFit Forward Kids
Crossfit Kids will have three sessions for our school year. Our first session will begin on Sept 11th and run until Nov 13. This session is 10 weeks long. The classes will be every Thursday from 4:45-5:45 (note time change). We are now enrolling kids for our first session. Cost of each session is $125. If you have more than one child enrolled, there will be a $5 discount per child.
Our classes will have at least two coaches in each class. As always, we will be dividing the elementary school and middle school kids into two seperate groups. Some older and advance level elementary athletes may be moved into the middle school class. This decision will be made by the coaches for that specific class.

What is CrossFit Kids?
CrossFit Kids is a one hour workout that consist of constantly varied, functional movements that deliver a fitness that is broad, inclusive and general and scalable for any participant at any level. Each class has a warmup, skill, workout and game.
What does this mean?
This means that, for the most part, no two workouts are the same, so kids never get bored and the novelty of each workout keeps them excited about participating.
The movements involve exercises that are fundamental to all things that kids need to do when they play-pull, push, run, throw, climb, lift and jump. All of the movements are taught safely and effectively under the close supervision of thoroughly trained CrossFit Kids Trainers.
When fitness is defined as broad, inclusive and general it means that participants will become well-rounded athletes who will be better at any and every sport that they play because CrossFit Kids doesn’t coach them to be good at just one thing.
Our workouts will increase physical competence in 10 fitness domains: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.
With workouts that are scalable, CrossFit Kids can equally benefit a person who is less active or an accomplished athlete by tailoring workouts so that each participant is challenged just enough to deliver measurable results and personal athletic progress.

I was born and raised in Spotsylvania Va. My husband and fellow CrossFitter, Jason, and I have three amazing kids. All three attend the CrossFit Kids class. I also work part time as a Financial Analyst for the Marine Corps.
I have spent most of my life running for pure enjoyment. One day I woke up and decided I needed something more. Being introduced to CrossFit has changed my life. I have been CrossFitting for almost three years now and love it as much as I did the first day I tried it.
My passion in life is to make kids/teens feel good about who they are. CrossFit will make them physically and mentally strong. I love to motivate kids to believe in their natural ability to excel. In doing this I find I learn something new every day about being a better coach and athlete. I cannot wait to expose children and teens to the self esteem gain that most people have been looking for all their lives.

I am originally from Stamford, CT, but have lived in Fredericksburg for almost four years now. I have three awesome kiddos, who all participate in Crossfit Kids as a supplement to their other sports activities. Additionally, my husband has been Crossfiting for over ten years as a soldier and government employee.
I began my journey with Crossfit a year ago, when I poked my head in Crossfit Forward, just to see what it was all about….never having any idea how profoundly a gym could change my life! I have found my love of sports again, have gained confidence in myself, have made some fabulous friends and improved my health dramatically! Sore as I may be some days, I can’t wait to get in there, check the board, chat with everyone, and push myself like I never would in a regular gym!
As a child, I was always moving! I swam, played volleyball and softball, and LOVED gymnastics. In high school, I began coaching and have continued to work, part-time, in helping children enjoy all the same sports I loved as a kid. I have several years experience coaching gymnastics and swimming in Connecticut and North Carolina. Additionally, I have a bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education and am currently studying Anatomy and Physiology as part of Germanna’s nursing program.
I look forward to coaching, encouraging, and having FUN with ALL of Forward’s Crossfitting kiddos!
