Why do you go to the gym?

For some people like myself, it is a constantly evolving concept. When I first decided to try CrossFit it was based on one simple, eye opening experience. I am 100%, positively, never, EVER EVER EVER, going to do leg day on my own. I used to walk into the base gym on what was supposed to be leg day, and if I didn’t immediately turn around, I’d likely end up doing some more curls for the girls. My concept of fitness and training was so warped and even though I was in the gym 4 days a week, I was the laziest dude in the world. I had the potential to work hard I just didn’t want to do hard work. CrossFit was appealing to me because every single day was planned for me and I was forced to do the things I didn’t like.

Fast forward 7 years and now my “why” has changed. CrossFit for me is a chance to constantly push myself out of my comfort zone daily as I believe remaining stagnant is the worst thing we can do for ourselves. Pushing my body daily allows me to stay healthy, fit, and strong for everything I experience in my life, as well as I can remain a positive influence for those who walk through the doors at Forward. With my wife pregnant with our first child, my daily fitness habit keeps me in the best shape I can be to keep up with what will surely be the most demanding task in my life! I do CrossFit daily for my family, my health, and for my community.

Be ACCOUNTABLE to your WHY

When the workout looks hard and you would rather stay in bed or stay home, be accountable to your why, step out of your comfort zone, and remember why you started this!
