New Year, New Decade

‘The first step towards getting somewhere is deciding you’re not going to stay where you are.’ (J.P. Morgan)

It’s a new decade and a new year. Many of us will make New Year’s resolutions this week or have already made them. We make New Year’s resolutions in an attempt to improve our lives. However, most resolutions only last a few weeks. We are unable to change and go back to our old ways.

Change is something that is hard to do, unless we have a great conviction that we don’t want to stay where we are any longer. Which is what the quote above is trying to convey. It’s obvious to get somewhere else we must leave the place we are. But we must be willing to go through the process before the move actually takes place.

The process in CrossFit sometimes involves failing. Failure is not the end. In the CrossFit Level 1 Guide, it states “You will not maximize the intensity or the speed without mistakes”. There is nothing wrong with making a mistake. It an essential part of the process as our development as athletes.

When I work out alongside all of you, I know everyone at the gym has the ability to achieve all their goals. At our box, you will find all the support and motivation you need. We push each other to perform better and faster each day. That’s what bring us all together. We all come together for a common cause and push each other towards reaching each other’s goals. Let’s fill the Bright Spots board up this year and continue to be an inspiration for each other. How can we help you get to where you want to be?
