Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

After the birth of my first daughter I had tipped the scales at 250+ pounds. Knowing I needed to do something I joined a gym and started my fitness journey. A few years later and 100 pounds gone I discovered CrossFit while working as a personal trainer. The workout rocked me in a way that no other workout had done before. I knew in that moment that I was hooked.

Why did you become a trainer?

I know how hard it is for people to get off the couch and start. (I used to be that person) I wanted to help people find their potential and growth through fitness and proper nutrition.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I got into CrossFit because I loved high intensity workouts. I’ve always been an extremely competitive person and CrossFit gave me the opportunity to not only compete with myself every single day, but to feel the rush of accomplishment when I pushed myself to new limits and met every challenge head on with success.

Why did you become a trainer?

I became a CrossFit Coach because I believe the methodologies in CrossFit present the most logical approach to developing fitness. I love teaching and mentoring people and being a CrossFit Coach presented me with every opportunity to meet new people every day and share with them everything I’ve learned and experienced.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Bacon Cheeseburgers, I can never get enough.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Captain America. I’m a Navy Vet, a patriot, and lover of all things Red White and Blue. Steve Rogers is a humble man with a lot of respect for his peers and will often downplay his own efforts in an attempt to lift up those around him. That’s something I try to do more and more every day.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I was overweight, out of shape and needed a change. I was about to be married and we both wanted to enjoy the outdoors together and be healthier in general. My now wife got together with Lindsay and set up my journey. Since the garage days, I haven’t looked back.

Why did you become a trainer?

I saw new athletes struggling and felt I could help. I remember the stress of trying to have correct movements, so I got my level 1 and it’s one of the greatest things I’ve done. I’m still learning today and I hope I’m able to pass it on.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Tostitos!

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Does Darth Vader count? He does today! He’s able to endure pain, loss, suffering, and internal struggles. Turning himself from a bitter, vengeful individual to a caring & determined man.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I’ve always loved working out and sports, but I felt as though I had never really reached my full potential as an athlete. I had been doing MMA and BJJ for a few years when I decided that I could use some more cardio and lifting in my life. I found a box, drank the Kool-Aid, and have never looked back! I’m addicted!

Why did you become a trainer?

When you’re passionate about something, you want to share it with others naturally; that’s the case with me! I believe in CrossFit 100% because I have seen it change my life (and many others) for the better, and I want everyone to experience that transformation as well. There is nothing better than watching the people you care about succeed in their goals. As a coach, I’m blessed that I get to see this everyday.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I was always into sports when I was young(er)! I played lacrosse through high school and college. After graduating from college, I went to England to be a PE teacher/lacrosse coach and worked a lot with very little time to work out. It wasn’t very pretty (especially for someone who was an athlete her entire life). When I came back home, my brother and I decided to get back into shape and run a Tough Mudder together. We were both struggling to train in a typical gym setting so we looked into CrossFit! The rest is history!

Why did you become a trainer?

I’ve been part of a team as an athlete/coach my entire adult life. After 4 years of building a high school lacrosse team (that won the Conference and Regional Title which allowed us to compete at the State level for the first time in the history of the program – lots of firsts that season), I decided to switch schools and take a break from coaching high school sports. I knew I would miss the coaching part of my life, so I decided to start coaching another passion of mine, CrossFit! I love helping athletes to learn and grow!

What is your favorite cheat food?

I really like pizza, chips and queso, and brownies.

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

I have 2 favorite Superheros. Thor. I mean… do you really need me to explain why?! (Ok, maybe I’m just a huge Chris Hemsworth fan!) I also really love Wonder Woman. One of my favorite quotes from the movie is when her aunt tells her, “You are stronger than you believe. You have greater powers than you know.” I feel this way about my kiddos (teacher Allison), my athletes (coach Allison), really just about everyone in general. *Thumbs up emoji* 🙂

Because I wasn’t happy with the way that I looked. CrossFit was recommended to me so I gave it a try. I loved the community and how nice everyone was at my original gym.

Why did you become a trainer?

Because Lindsay nagged me about it for months because she thought I would be an asset to her coaching staff. So after months of her asking me, I finally agreed and signed up for a course. It’s like a happily ever after story.
